Harbour town and hill town
Bermagui is built around its harbour, the fishermen’s wharf and the Blue Pool, with homes running up the hill from Horseshoe Bay and out along Wallaga Lake and Haywards Beach. Those houses take the full sea breeze and salt air, so outdoor units need sheltered positions and coils that can handle it. Cobargo is a different story. It sits inland in the valley on the Princes Highway, among dairy country, and gets hotter summer afternoons and much colder, frostier winter mornings than the coast only twenty minutes away.
That’s why we don’t quote the same system for both. In Bermagui we pay most attention to corrosion protection and placement. In Cobargo, Quaama and the farms around them, heating output on a cold morning matters as much as cooling, and older weatherboard homes and farmhouses often need a bit more thought about where pipework and units can go.
