Multi-zone air conditioning
Multi-zone air conditioning systems provide all of the benefits of ducted air conditioning in a modular package. Rather than taking up under floor or ceiling space for ductwork, multi-zone systems run for a single outdoor unit with central temperature controls.
What makes multi-zone air conditioning great
- No ceiling or under floor space required for ductwork
- Central temperature controls
- Separate climate zones
Cost
If you can’t install traditional ducted air conditioning, a multi-zone system is the most affordable alternative.
Recommended for
Structures that don’t allow concealed ductwork.
Multi-zone air conditioning Batemans Bay homes can rely on
A multi-zone (multi-head) system connects two or more indoor units to a single outdoor unit. Each indoor unit has its own controls, so every room can be set to its own temperature, or switched off when it’s empty. You get room-by-room comfort with only one outdoor unit on the wall or ground, which makes a big difference on a small block, a townhouse or a house where outdoor space is tight.
When multi-head makes sense
- Homes without enough roof or subfloor space for ducted air conditioning
- Apartments and townhouses where you can only fit one outdoor unit
- Extensions, granny flats or upstairs bedrooms that need their own climate control
- Owners who want individual control in each room
If you do have roof space, zoned ducted air conditioning may suit better. If you only need one or two rooms, separate high-wall split systems are often simplest. We’ll talk through all three options at the quote.
Brands we supply and install
We supply and install multi-head systems from Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Panasonic and LG, matching each indoor unit to its room and the outdoor unit to the total load.
Coastal installs and our process
We position the outdoor unit out of direct sea spray where possible, with good airflow, and run the pipework neatly in covers. Our ARC-licensed team does the refrigerant work, then we test every head and show you the controls. Our installation workmanship is covered for the same period as the manufacturer’s warranty.
